China may become the world's largest logistics market in 2016
China is expected to become the world's largest logistics market by 2016, the world's fourth largest third-party logistics company said in Shanghai. Today, logistics costs account for 18 percent of China's GDP, nearly twice the level of Europe and the United States.
China's domestic logistics is suffering from a series of problems, among which the high cost and credibility of logistics suppliers are the main problems, and the quality of transportation is also a major problem, according to the 2012 China logistics status survey report released by kehua logistics on the same day.
Base, China executive vice President of China logistics Dai Chengan in an interview with reporters said that over the next decade, China will accelerate the development of logistics industry, the logistics cost still higher, in order to maintain China's international competitiveness, it is necessary to further reduce the cost of the value-added business, the logistics cost of GDP dropped to a lower level.
Dai said China's logistics industry is now in a stage of development and maturity. Increased government spending on infrastructure is one industry boost, along with efforts to reduce road tolls. At present, the problem of domestic logistics industry is the low utilization rate of trucks. On the other hand, different types of transport are not tightly connected, resulting in higher inventory levels.
In recent years, the government has introduced a series of supportive policies for the logistics industry to improve transport efficiency and reduce operating costs, Mr. Dai said. In the past few years, great progress has been made in the customs, including in the construction of the bonded area. It is hoped that the government will consider introducing new policies to further reduce logistics costs. At present, customs clearance and customs procedures in different provinces are somewhat different, and it is necessary to introduce corresponding policies to improve the efficiency of trans-provincial logistics.
